Reviews for Ouzopinelies Peter
Review highlights
Based on 650 reviewsOuzopinelies Peter is widely praised for its authentic Greek cuisine and cozy, welcoming atmosphere, making it a favored choice in Thessaloniki's dining scene. Reviewers often highlight generous portions, reasonable pricing, and friendly service, with many noting the complimentary treats and genuine hospitality from the staff. The restaurant’s specialization in seafood, particularly octopus dishes, receives consistent acclaim for quality and flavor. Its location, slightly removed from the busy crowds, offers a relaxed and intimate setting that appeals to those seeking a traditional, homely experience. While there is occasional feedback on menu variety, overall, Ouzopinelies Peter is celebrated for delivering both value and an authentic taste of the Mediterranean in a charming environment.
Absolutely loved it! Generous portions, friendly service. They even gave a complimentary dessert at the end. Not that expensive either. 10/10 recommend for an authentic and homely experience.
I like places with its own soul. Even there are many restaurants in this part of Thessaloniki, this one is a bit away from the crowd so you can enjoy what you eat. The food is good, service is good. The atmosphere is ‘small and cozy’ if you like such places. I had ouzo, sardines, sarma, tzaziki and big bowl of salad, which was only 32 Euros. Similar to local shop owners in real Mediterranean, such as south Turkey, Spain or Italy, I am only charged 30 because it is custom to round it to lower and offer a desert which was an ice cream. I witnessed similar satisfaction from the other tables near. If you are looking for posh place with fancy decoration, this is not your place. If you are into local and tasty, don’t hesitate. Only negative comment could be the ‘chairs’. Small and uncomfortable, but you would not care once you dive into the food.
Amazing local taverna with home cozy vibes. The owners greet you with a smile. The food is beyond delicious - everything we ordered was great! We especially loved the grilled octopus. One of the best I have ever tasted in Greece! Highly recommend when in Thessaloniki!!
Totally worthy. Tried for the first time in Greece the cooked octopus with honey, soo good and the portion for that price is really good. Tried also pumpkin flower stuffed with rice, also good. With tzatziki. Very good. For me it would be better with minced meat and different type of rice, yet still tasty. 21euro was fair price for this. 6/5 Update: During my 3-day stay in Thessaloniki, I've been here 3 times. I would have visited this place one more time, but during public holiday they were fully booked. Each time I tried different dishes. I have tried a shark for the first time in my life. So delicate. I was more than happy, especially from your octopus. Greetings. Last uptade: I left Greece in July 2025 and this is the best restaurant I have visited during my 1.5 year stay in Greece. And there were many different restaurants. Wish you all the best and I wish I can come back one day.
We came here after seeing it was highly rated and it did not dissapoint. Only bad thing was not being able to order everything, can’t go past the octopus in honey, do yourself the favour. 10/10 will come again tomorrow
A charming little restaurant decorated in blue and white, located near the hotel I was staying at. I visited in the early evening when it wasn’t crowded—just a few other guests and myself—so I could really enjoy the pleasant breeze and the stunning view from inside. Not being very familiar with Greek cuisine, I asked the friendly owner for recommendations. He kindly suggested a few dishes, and I went with the Greek salad and grilled octopus. The Greek salad was just the right size, topped generously with cheese and full of fresh vegetables. But the real highlight was the grilled octopus—so tender it practically melted in my mouth! I’ve never had octopus like that before. While the portion was on the smaller side, it was perfectly spiced and paired beautifully with a glass of white wine. I’d love to come back again!
A high quality experience and a detailed insight into the Greek cousine. Boiled vegetable salad is something that is a great deal more than how it sounds! The selection of seafood and fish was amazing.
The best dining experience in my life. Fresh sea food and local food. Great price and very welcoming owner with his wife. We had wonderful time and I can only encourage everyone to visit and try to eat like a local. Must visit in Thessaloniki
